Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our mechanical engineering team in delivering innovative solutions for high-profile defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and sign off on all mechanical designs, ensuring the team follows industry standards and best practices during design, development, and build phases.
* Conduct FEA and CFD analyses to validate designs.
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mechanical design across the business.
* Support and resolve mechanical issues during the design, development, and manufacturing processes.
* Ensure mechanical designs adhere to Configuration Management (CM) processes, and oversee baseline and change control activities.
* Produce, review, and approve technical documentation, including CAD drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Requirements:
* Strong experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, with expertise in FEA and thermal analysis.
* An engineering degree in a relevant discipline (or extensive experience in mechanical design).
* Familiarity with mechanical standards in the defence sector.
* Ability to take initiative and lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
