Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Civil Engineering Professional to take on a senior leadership role at VGC. As a Roads and Civils Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a major highways project in Northampton, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or highways, with experience managing multiple teams of people.

About the Project

The project involves the construction of a major highway in Northampton, requiring a high level of technical expertise and management skills. The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the site
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• Supervising and motivating site operatives and subcontractors
• Producing CDM construction phase plans and ensuring safety procedures are followed
• Ordering plant and materials on a daily basis
• Conducting site inspections and inductions
• Assisting in preparing weekly cost and value reports
• Maintaining site diaries
• Managing subcontractors on site
• Providing ECI to clients and designers
• Producing and adhering to works programmes

What We Offer

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A driving licence
• Background in civil engineering or highways
• Experience managing multiple teams of people
• NRSWA supervisor qualification
• IT literacy
• CSCS black card
• SMSTS/SSSTS certification

£45,000-£55,000 per annum
