About the Role

We estimate that this role comes with a salary of approximately $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. As a key member of our Tax function, you will be responsible for supporting the VAT Manager in preparing quarterly UK group VAT returns, Annual Adjustment and Capital Goods Scheme calculations, and liaising with external providers to ensure timely submission of VAT returns worldwide.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the UK Group VAT return while ensuring Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
  • Take ownership of monthly reverse charge VAT accounting.
  • Review various monthly/quarterly VAT reports to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
  • Update VAT process notes.
  • Communicate VAT issues with finance teams to resolve them.
  • Prepare monthly VAT training materials for Accounts Payable and provide pertinent training.
  • Ongoing effort to automate VAT compliance processes using PowerBI.
  • CoHo VAT return for Funds.
  • Assist the Head of Group Tax in managing the Tax team budget.
  • Support other tax team members as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has gained knowledge and experience from working in the finance function of a large organisation.
  • VAT-specific knowledge is useful but not necessary, as training will be provided.
  • Outgoing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for reviewing, interpreting, and manipulating large datasets.
  • Keen on automation, ideally with experience in using PowerBI to automate processes.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strict observance of procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and liaise with external advisors.
