Example Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Heating Engineer Service Technician to join a national heating contractor operating in the private sector.

Job Overview:

This role involves self-employed heating engineers working on an ongoing service and repair contract in the Stockport and Cheadle area. The successful candidate will be required to work independently, with 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day and flexibility to request additional jobs from the planning team.

Compensation Package:

The estimated salary for this position is £23,000 - £30,750 per annum, based on an annual service visit rate of £23.00 per completed property, plus a linked repair rate of £30.75. Optional out-of-hours and weekend work is available at enhanced rates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To complete annual gas safety checks and provide reliable service and repair work to clients in the Stockport and Cheadle area
  • To maintain accurate records of work completed and provide excellent customer service
  • To use a tablet device provided by the company to book appointments, diagnose system and boiler faults, and access Exsol computer diagnosis system
  • To ensure all equipment and vehicles are maintained to a high standard and comply with Gas Safe regulations
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified heating engineer
  • ACS qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires)
  • A Panel Van (plain or sign-written) and Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser
  • Gas Safe Registration and £2m Public Liability Insurance
  • No unspent criminal convictions
