Transforming Renewable Energy with Data-Driven Solutions

Octopus Renewables is embarking on a comprehensive transformation program to drive advancements in our business operations and technology landscape. We are seeking a proficient and innovative Data Engineer to join our Transformation Team and design, implement, and maintain sophisticated data solutions that elevate the operational effectiveness of our portfolio investments and management teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Construct and sustain scalable data pipelines to ensure data integrity and availability across the organisation.
  • Database Management: Oversee dbt SQL data models and manage sophisticated data storage architectures.
  • Automation and Tooling: Use Python and other scripting languages to automate data processes and enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate advanced reports and performance dashboards using tools like Streamlit & Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Governance: Champion data quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with both industry standards and organisational policies.
  • Collaboration: Engage with teams such as Finance, Asset Management, and Fund Management to ensure alignment of data solutions with business objectives.

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in data architecture and pipeline development, extensive experience in SQL, Python, and familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes. Experience in full-stack development is preferred, particularly with technologies like Streamlit, and an openness to learning and incorporating Django as it becomes part of our tech stack. Significant experience in API development and management is also required.
