To succeed in this role, you will have a genuine passion for understanding the impact of weather on commodity and energy markets. You will be responsible for contributing to our constantly evolving modelling methodologies to enhance the understanding and implications of changing weather patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within BNEF on cross-cutting themes that are impacted by weather, such as energy and commodity markets, supply chains, regulation, and policy.
  • Identify topics of interest to clients, conduct research, and report on the findings in a timely manner.
  • Clearly communicate research to clients and prospects, including presenting at conferences, webinars, and meetings.
  • Develop a network of contacts in the industry and represent BNEF across a wide variety of senior stakeholders.
  • Support cross-departmental flagship publications.

Requirements:

  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for weather and the link to the energy transition and commodity markets.
  • Strong communication skills with a particular focus on writing business English.
  • Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand, distil, and work with complex topics and to communicate insights to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • An ability to understand and summarise large datasets.
  • Ability to act as a thought-leader and self-starter, maintain a high work-rate, and ability to work on parallel tasks.
  • Advanced and well-developed Excel skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, business, economics, finance, engineering, science, mathematics, or other relevant subjects.
