Unlock the Future of Sustainable Building Materials

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our team at Concrete4Change, a leading Nottingham SME, in partnership with the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University. Our goal is to develop new, sustainable, advanced concrete materials with carbon negative footprints.

Key Features:

  • PhD training that will build upon your master's degree in chemistry or materials chemistry, with a focus on accelerated 'real-world' deployment of research results.
  • Unique PhD training programme: 2 days in C4C, 3 days in UoN/NTU per week, aimed at achieving 'green' concrete for a sustainable future in record time.
  • Involvement with the UK community dedicated to decarbonisation and the production of high-value chemicals from CO2.
  • CO2 sequestration in concrete and production of high-value chemicals from CO2 are considered the only environmental solutions with a positive ROI.

What We Offer:

  • EPSRC standard rates starting at £18,622 per year with awards increasing every year, typically with inflation.
  • A 4-year PhD with stipend, available from October 2024.
  • A unique opportunity to work with a leading SME and academic institutions, driving innovation in sustainable building materials.

Requirements:
