Empower Family Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Somerset, covering the Southwest Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, assess, and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers.
  • Support Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards.
  • Provide and record regular supervision in line with the agency's operational standards.
  • Undertake support visits.
  • Contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews within required timescales.
  • Ensure that the Foster Carers have an accurate and up-to-date Foster Care Agreement.
  • Identify learning and development needs.
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments.
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children, and young people.
  • Assist in the delivery of training.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours duty system on a rota basis.

Requirements:

  • CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, or BA in Social Work.
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • A knowledge of legislation relevant to children and families.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands.
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-reliance.
  • Flexible approach to providing effective support to Foster Carers.
  • Commitment to personal self-development and training.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Professional organisation.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
