About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pensions Specialist to join our team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our HR Operations department, you will provide in-house support for the outsourced pensions administration and governance of our legacy defined benefit pension schemes and current defined contribution schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional support to the in-house pensions manager and to the Chair of Trustee of the Defined Benefit Pension Schemes.
  • Drive pensions engagement strategy and lead on pensions, retirement, and financial wellbeing communications across the Company.
  • Manage the current defined contribution arrangements, including liaising with key internal teams such as Reward, Payroll, the HR Hub, and Finance teams.
  • Lead the development and delivery of key pension contracts, with a keen focus on robust governance and cost management.
  • Manage pension projects driven by strategic or regulatory developments.
  • Attend and contribute to periodic defined benefit trustee meetings and defined contribution governance meetings.
  • Respond to queries from employees, trustees, and advisers, and be a point of pensions escalation for the HR Hub.
Requirements

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with technical knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements. A strong understanding of the pensions industry and relevant legislation is required. Experience in managing external suppliers and contracts would be beneficial.

You will need to have excellent communication and engagement skills to drive the pensions engagement strategy and lead on pensions, retirement, and financial wellbeing communications across the Company. You will design and deliver engaging campaigns and events to raise awareness and understanding of pensions and related topics among our employees.
