About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As a Lead Physiotherapist Orthopaedics, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with orthopaedic and surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical management of physiotherapy services across the Orthopaedic and Surgical Wards, ensuring effective and safe working practices.
  • Undertake advanced assessments and treatments of patients with complex and/or chronic presentations, determining clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment.
  • Represent the Physiotherapy Department at Orthopaedic Trauma meetings, delegating responsibility when unable to attend.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely discharge of patients and effective management of cases.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient care and service provision.
Requirements
  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Portfolio and evidence of continuing professional development relating to specialism.
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
  • Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience with minimum 2 years at band 6 level in an NHS in-patient setting.
  • Experience of orthopaedic and surgical cases and managing a complex caseload within the specialism.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and its application to support effective and safe working practices.
