Children's Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Children's Support Worker to join our expanding team at Brook Street Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in residential children's services across Cardiff, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.

About the Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you will work as part of a team to deliver care and support to children and young people, ensuring they feel safe and valued. You will work with children according to their individual needs, enabling them to succeed in all areas of their lives. You will be a positive role model, encouraging children to grow and develop personally and academically, as well as participating in extracurricular activities outside of school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Work with children to develop and implement individual care plans, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being among children and young people.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality service, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of up-to-date UK-based care experience working with children.
  • A clear DBS and enhanced disclosure to work with children.
  • A driver with access to your own vehicle.
  • Reliability and flexibility to support in other projects as needed.
  • Experience in report writing and working with challenging behaviors.
  • Patient, nurturing, and kind with a passion for children and young people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with children with EBD, ADHD, attachment issues, and other behaviors that may be exhibited.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £13.50, plus holiday pay entitlement. All required training will be provided, and opportunities to complete extra qualifications to progress in your career working with children.
