Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Research Assistant to support our QR-funded project, REConnect (River Esk Connect): Climate Action Project. This role involves assisting with data collection, algorithm development, and analysis, as well as collaborating with partners and disseminating research findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in organizing data collection with partners and conducting field research.
  • Undertake literature searches and reviews.
  • Contribute to transcription and data analysis using NVivo 15.
  • Collaborate with partners to disseminate research findings, writing reports and papers.
  • Document research findings and prepare reports.
  • Attend networking events and represent the university externally.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • A Master's degree or PhD in human geography or sociology, or a related social science field.
  • Knowledge of qualitative ethnographic field research and data collection methods.
  • Experience analyzing and writing up qualitative research.
  • Ability to analyze complex qualitative data using NVivo.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this role is £31,340 - £38,310 (based on 35 hours per week), exclusive of holiday pay.
