Accounts & Tax Assistant Manager or Manager

Butler Rose Public Practice is supporting a dynamic and growing accountancy practice based in the City of London in their search for an experienced and well-qualified Accounts & Tax assistant manager or manager to take ownership of the review and delivery of various assignments and work production for allocated clients.

This role involves taking responsibility for Ltd companies and sole trader accounts, as well as related tax returns, mainly serviced-based with a slant towards creatives. An interest in related tax matters is helpful.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience in review, delivery, and managing production, as well as responding to ad hoc queries in a timely manner. Responsibilities include ensuring the completeness of information, communicating with clients, and reviewing basic self-assessment tax returns as part of the sole trader accounts process.

This role requires coordination and review processes, understanding key issues/risks, and ensuring the firm's policies are followed to reduce risks. A small element of liaising and reviewing payroll and quarterly VAT returns is also required.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a UK-based accountancy practice. Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles and strong IT skills, including experience with accounting software such as CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage, are essential.
