We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accountant to join our finance team at Watkin Jones Group. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Group's internal and external reporting, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations, and contributing to the statutory audit process.

About the Role:

As a Technical Accountant, you will be responsible for providing technical accounting analysis, leading discussions with audit specialists, and managing information requests. You will also manage areas of technical accounting, including IFRS 15 revenue analysis, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and disclosure reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group's internal and external reporting, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Contribute to the statutory audit process, providing technical accounting analysis and leading discussions with audit specialists.
  • Manage areas of technical accounting, including IFRS 15 revenue analysis, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and disclosure reviews.
  • Work with external tax advisors to complete consolidated corporation tax workings for the Group.
  • Consolidate the Group tax provision (corporation & deferred tax) and prepare disclosure information for the consolidated group accounts and statutory accounts for subsidiaries.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in technical accounting and UK tax compliance, with experience of listed company reporting, IFRS accounting principles, and corporation tax workings. Experience of taxes within the Construction industry would be desirable.
