Senior Architect Job Description

About the Role

Hunter Dunning is seeking a skilled Senior Architect to lead their education team and drive project success from concept to completion. This is an excellent opportunity to work on schools and higher education projects, primarily across the northwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on design, management, and collaboration with the wider design and technical team members, reporting to the Director of Education.
  • Manage and mentor a team of architects and designers, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
  • Build strong client relationships and coordinate with clients and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the education sector portfolio.
  • Oversee all phases of project delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality completion within budget.
  • Maintain effective communication and foster collaboration with all project stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UK experience post-part III qualification.
  • Experience working on Education projects from concept to completion, across schools, higher education, or university projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of the DFE frameworks, contractors, and working practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of architects, technologists, and architectural assistants.
  • Strong client-facing skills and comfortable leading meetings and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency working in Revit and AutoCAD.
