Job Summary

The Mobile Air-Conditioning Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions are maintained concerning critical building systems and to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems within the sites.

  1. To travel to sites across the advertised locations, requiring a full UK driving license.
  2. Ensure that routine PPM (to SFG 20) is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
  3. Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  4. Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to always maintain plant in serviceable order.
  5. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
  6. Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken.
  7. Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff, subcontractors, and the client representatives.
  8. Ensure up to date shift logs are kept at all times.
  9. Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of CBRE Managed services are always locked and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  10. Supervise and monitor subcontractors' work while they are on site undertaking maintenance.
  11. Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
  12. Undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
  13. Ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
  14. Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system, SI LOCAL, up to date.
  15. Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements.
  16. Provide holiday and emergency cover as required.
  17. Any other task as directed by the account management team.
Requirements
Education
  • A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English.
  • CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant field.
Knowledge
  • Good all-round knowledge of general building works, diagnostic and repair procedures, working knowledge of building services systems and maintenance schedules.
  • Formally trained in electrical/mechanical Maintenance.
  • Mechanical and commissioning experience.
  • Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU's, Crac units or equivalent.
  • Engineers must also understand the demarcation between maintainable assets and BPL maintained assets within laboratory and production environments.
Experience
  • Mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Experience of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.
  • Good all-round knowledge of general building works, diagnostic and repair procedures.
  • Working knowledge of building services systems and maintenance schedules.
Circumstances
  • Must be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
  • Must have full UK driving license.
