About the Role

This is a challenging role within EU119 Vishay Newport Ltd's Facilities Department, reporting to the Facilities Plant Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering critical facilities maintenance services across multiple sites on rotational shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fault finding and rectification of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems using site BMS for plant operation and problem identification.
  • Operation of facilities plant and equipment, including interrogation of site BMS system.
  • Performing planned preventive maintenance and unplanned maintenance on facilities plant and equipment, including CHP, and recording results.
  • Routine monitoring of facilities systems, taking measurements and responding accordingly.
  • Repairing plant and equipment in-situ or in workshop facilities.
  • Responding to site alarms and ensuring condition rectification as soon as possible.
  • Collaborating with team members or working independently to complete scheduled and non-routine maintenance effectively.
  • Driving improvements in energy and operational metrics by taking ownership of assigned areas.
  • Liaising with Manufacturing/R & M to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Mentoring colleagues and sharing expertise to enhance group skills and knowledge.
  • Routine testing of life safety systems, including sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
Requirements
  • Engineering Apprenticeship with ONC or equivalent in a related field (desirable).
  • Experience within the facilities department in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical/mechanical fault finding and repair experience (pumps, fans, steam, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, project) experience essential.
  • Results-oriented individual with high attention to detail and strong leadership skills.
  • Able to establish and maintain contractor/supplier relationships.
  • Capable of adapting to changing business demands efficiently.
  • Understanding of Cleanroom working principles.
