About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a Child Psychotherapist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with children in care and will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessments and interventions for young people who require a trauma and neurodevelopmental informed approach.
  • Work directly with young people and their families to promote stability and connection within the family system.
  • Consult with social workers and other key professionals to facilitate psychologically informed care planning.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff and carers on trauma, neurodevelopmental, and attachment informed approaches.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent) and eligible for Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society.
  • Clinical experience working with children in care, children and adolescent's mental health, and working with their carers.
  • Experience of clinical supervision and consultation with teams and networks around the family.
