CBT Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced mental health professional to join our team as a CBT Therapist or Psychologist. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in and aptitude for academic study and work, with a focus on developing their skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Personality Disorder.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 24 months, with the opportunity to automatically transfer to a substantive band 7 post as a CBT Therapist in the Trust upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT for Personality Disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake core CBT training in the first year of the UCL course and practice skills in one of our Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs)
• Focus on the application of CBT skills with people who have a diagnosis of Personality Disorder and may present with risk in the second year of the course
• Balance academic and NHS-based work, with a strong system for time management
• Work in a team and develop good working relationships with psychology staff and other healthcare professionals
• Use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively

Requirements:

• Registered Mental Health Practitioner working at Band 6 or above
• Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
• Demonstrates high standards in written communication
• Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within the scope of practice
• Demonstrates an understanding of the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
