Sales and Marketing Professional

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales & Marketing Professional to join our commercial team at DFL. As a key player in our revenue growth strategy, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across both B2B and B2C markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong understanding of local/regional business to business (B2B) and business to customer (B2C) markets for all aspects of revenue generation from matchday and non-matchday opportunities.
- Answering of telephone and inbound commercial inquiries, converting into sales.
- Prospect clients for new and future business leads.
- Arrange meetings both on-site and off-site with potential customers to prospect for new business.
- Produce and deliver appropriate sales presentations.
- Ensure CRM is permanently updated with all communication, sales leads, and prospects.
- Utilise the matchday operation to identify and maintain both new and existing business.
- Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls, emails, and all other forms of communication.
- Review your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
- Be responsible for hitting sales targets set by line manager.
- Provide weekly sales reporting to line manager.
- Work with line manager daily to identify business opportunities for commercial growth.
- Understand all aspects of the commercial business and become a team player in commercial budget delivery etc.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with other departments to deliver overall club strategy.
- Attend team meetings and share best practice with colleagues.
- Any other Commercial Sales Executive duties as directed by management.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
Club Wide Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
- Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Thorough understanding of sports marketing.
- Proven track record of sales and marketing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Desirable Criteria for the Role:
- Undergraduate degree in Business or related field.
- NVQ level 2 in a business-related field.
- History of working in a sporting or hospitality environment.
- Completion of regular sales training courses.
- Experience utilising and populating a database and CRM Management System.
- Customer Service Qualification.
