The Accounts Senior role:
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Preparing client accounts, tax, PAYE or VAT based work and identifying points for partners to raise with clients and potential additional services.
- Finalizing paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC, meeting deadlines, and ensuring high-quality results.
- Interpreting tax returns and financial accounts to facilitate effective tax planning.
- Liaising proactively with clients to obtain relevant information, ensuring attention to detail.
- Monitoring your own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets, meeting targets, and exceeding where possible.
- Recording your chargeable time and ensuring maximum recovery.
- Supporting trainees by providing on-the-job coaching.
- Involvement in audit work as required.
- Performing bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, supplier maintenance, and management accounts as needed.
- Preparing client tax returns and advising on tax payable and payment dates.
- Assisting clients with accounts software and other bookkeeping queries as required.
- Completing overtime as required and attending relevant courses.
- Involvement in client seminars, including attendance and setup as required.
- Involvement in networking and business generation under the guidance of senior team members.
The successful Accounts Senior candidate:
- Must be ACCA/ACA qualified.
- Should have at least 4 years' UK practice experience.
- Should have previous experience operating at Accounts Senior level.
- Must create a positive impression with clients and staff.
- Should possess excellent client relationship skills.
- Aptitude to assist with business development activities.
- Highly commercial approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach, prepared to go the extra mile.
- Strong IT skills.
- Must enjoy developing more junior staff.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
