Senior Property Lawyer Opportunity

Service Care Legal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Lawyer to join a local authority in Bedfordshire on a permanent basis. This role is critical in managing a property law team and delivering high-level legal advice on complex commercial property matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the day-to-day management of a team of 3-4 staff members, allocating and overseeing workload.
  2. Provide expert guidance on high-level and complex areas of commercial property law, including development projects, landlord and tenant matters, disposals, acquisitions, and conveyancing.
  3. Draft, negotiate, and interpret complex legal documentation for various statutory and non-statutory agreements.
  4. Offer advice on legal matters related to education, residential, highways, charity law, and more.
  5. Ensure the Council's property interests are protected, income is secured, and statutory and procedural compliance is maintained.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Barrister with a minimum of 3 years' PQE.
  2. Strong background in commercial property law within a public sector environment.
  3. Experience managing a property legal team.
  4. Proven ability to draft and interpret complex legal documents.
  5. Knowledge of local government and statutory regulations is advantageous.
