Engineering Manager required to join a global, leading engineering manufacturer based in Sunderland.

The successful candidate will lead and supervise a team of Test Engineers ensuring their performance aligns with company standards and customer expectations. You will oversee and manage the service operations, supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and support the installation and commissioning of high-pressure hydrogen systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for hydrogen compressed air systems.
  2. Oversee and motivate a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  3. Drive continuous improvements in engineering testing procedures.
  4. Ensure adherence to safety standards and risk assessments.
  5. Provide regular updates and performance data to the Engineering Director.
  6. Liaise with various engineering departments.

Requirements:

  1. Experience as an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Workshop Manager, On-site Manager, Test Supervisor, Service Operations Manager, or similar in a supervisory role in manufacturing or engineering projects.
  2. Strong experience and exposure in hazardous areas.
  3. Test Engineers with hydrogen and compressed air expertise are encouraged to apply.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities within engineering.
  5. Expertise in high-pressure gas systems and Lean principles or managing service teams within an engineering/manufacturing setting.
  6. Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  7. Ability to commute to Sunderland daily.

Package:

  1. £50,000-£55,000 depending on experience.
  2. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  3. 7% Pension.
  4. Additional benefits.
  5. 10% of salary in equity shares after 1 year.
