Job Title: Financial Expert - Management Accountant



About the Role:



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial professional to join our team as a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a wholesale and distribution family-run company in Lichfield.



Main Responsibilities:





  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, contributing to strategic financial planning and decision-making.

  • Cost & Asset Management: Perform cost variance analysis, manage control accounts reconciliations, and calculate depreciation for property, plant, and equipment.

  • Month-End & Year-End Closures: Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of audit documentation and VAT returns for multiple entities.

  • Journal & Reconciliation: Prepare and post journals for payroll, prepayments, and accruals, perform bank reconciliations, and manage daily cashbook postings.

  • Supplier & Payment Management: Oversee supplier invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations, including handling international supplier queries.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Train and mentor junior team members, collaborate with internal teams, and liaise with customers and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships.

  • System Proficiency: Work with Sage for daily accounting tasks, reporting, and analysis, and other systems in the finance function.



Requirements:



We require a candidate with:



Experience: Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and working with small to medium-sized businesses.



Skills: Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex reconciliations and asset management.



Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.



Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
