Key Responsibilities:
  • Speech and Language Development: Take ownership of speech and language interventions, working closely with specialist teams to implement tailored communication strategies for each child.
  • Bespoke Curriculum Design: Collaborate with the class teacher to support the creation and delivery of individualised curriculums, ensuring every child's learning needs are met.
  • Leadership & Support: Confidently direct and guide other staff members in providing exceptional support for the children, ensuring a high standard of care and education at all times.
  • Teaching Delivery: Deliver high-quality lessons in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
  • A qualified HLTA or equivalent experience (training can be provided), with a passion for working with children who have severe learning difficulties.
  • Under the guidance of the class, be confident in directing and supporting a team of teaching assistants and other staff.
  • Experience in speech and language development and a commitment to supporting the communication needs of each child.
  • Creative and adaptable, with the ability to design and deliver personalised learning experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) and a track record of supporting children with EHCPs.
