SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child with ADHD in a mainstream primary school. This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. The ideal candidate will have a sports background and be able to build strong relationships with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with complex mental health and emotional needs.
- Help demonstrate the value of education to students.
- Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure each student receives the necessary care and guidance.
- Working 1:1 with students offering extra support
Key Requirements:
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 or equivalent
- A sincere passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
- A sports background playing or coaching
- The ability to build strong, comfort-based relationships with students.
- A genuine interest in understanding the challenges faced by young people with mental health and trauma issues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilience and adaptability to deal with a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Will have a Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/ Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service.
