About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Consultant to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Project & Programme Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering health and safety services on a wide range of projects, from construction to infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health and safety services on both independent commissions and project delivery services.
  • Deliver Principal Designer Services under CDM2015, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Produce pre-construction information, files, and other associated CDM documents.
  • Review contractors' documentation and ensure designer compliance.
  • Interface with clients and design teams on a project basis, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Conduct site health and safety inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Advise clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
  • Proactively develop business opportunities within the region, identifying new markets and clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with current legal developments in construction and associated law, ensuring our team's expertise remains at the forefront.
Requirements
  • Chartered or Professional Qualification in Design or Construction.
  • NEBOSH qualified (minimum Construction Certificate).
  • Preferable Member of APS / IOSH / CIOB.
  • Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDM 2015 and other health and safety issues.
  • Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
  • H+S Training capability may be an advantage.
  • Strong Communication skills - experience of communicating with people at differing levels effectively through oral and written communication.
  • Client-facing skills - experience of working with clients at a strategic/operational level and managing relationships effectively.
  • Strong Planning and Organising skills - able to prioritise workload and deadlines and manage change effectively.
  • Effective problem resolution skills - solution-oriented with the ability to manage problems and complaints assertively.
  • Teamwork skills - ability to work with others to achieve team and personal targets or objectives.
