Job Description

Job Summary:

Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Childcare Worker to join our Early Years Team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare provision and assisting the Childcare Supervisor in delivering a range of services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Childcare Supervisor in providing a high-quality childcare provision within the Early Years Team.
  • Support the development of children's skills and abilities through play-based activities and educational programs.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of activities and events that promote children's learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in childcare and education.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification in Early Years/Childcare, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (Wales and Northern Ireland).
  • A knowledge and understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Childcare Facilities.
  • Relevant experience, ideally 3 years, of working with children in Early Years settings.
  • Experience of participating in planning meetings and contributing to the observation, planning, and assessment cycle.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience of working with parents in group settings.
Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to work on a casual basis, with a variable schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The role will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
