This role supports vulnerable learners holistically to achieve excellent outcomes. We are seeking a professional with experience in education settings, passionate about the inclusion of children and young people in education and society.
The Secondary Education and Family Liaison Coordinator will take responsibility for inclusion matters and provide 1:1 learning support for vulnerable pupils with Traveller heritage and ethnicity. This role involves working closely with schools, support services, and other agencies to provide advice on effective inclusion strategies.
The post holder will encourage and challenge schools, partners, and stakeholders to take a positive, active, and inclusive attitude towards Travellers. A significant part of this role includes family liaison and providing holistic support via a multi-agency framework to ensure the young person and family is supported at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller children and young people within London Borough of Sutton and London Borough of Merton.
- Work closely with schools, support services, and other agencies to provide advice on effective inclusion strategies.
- Encourage and challenge schools, partners, and stakeholders to take a positive, active, and inclusive attitude towards Travellers.
- Provide family liaison and holistic support via a multi-agency framework to ensure the young person and family is supported at all levels.
