About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join LOROS Hospice's Overnight Response Service, providing specialist advice and responsive visiting care to palliative patients and their carers overnight.

This specific role involves close collaboration with a Clinical Nurse Specialist as part of a team of two. Responsibilities include answering telephone calls, conducting home visits jointly with the specialist nurse, delivering supportive patient care, and inputting details onto SystmOne. Additional duties include maintaining the efficient running of the service through housekeeping tasks.

Access to a pool car is available, and driving is an essential component of this role. The pilot service will be supported by access to specialist palliative medical advice as needed, operating 7 days a week between 22:00 and 08:00 hours.

Occasional day shifts will be required to maintain skills and ensure compliance with training requirements.

Requirements
  • A highly motivated individual with experience in providing palliative care and end-of-life care within the community setting.
  • Strong empathetic communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be expected to work some evening and night shifts, as well as occasional daytime shifts. A competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum will be offered, commensurate with experience.
