Sociology Instructor

Job Title: Sociology Instructor

Job Summary:

Brightpoint Community College is seeking a qualified Sociology Instructor to teach online or traditional courses on the Chester or Midlothian campus. The successful candidate will have a master's degree in Sociology or a related field and prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.

Responsibilities:

• Teach Principles of Anthropology I, Principles of Sociology, and Social Problems courses
• Deliver instruction online or on-campus
• Use instructional technologies to enhance the learning experience
• Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Sociology or a related field
• 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in Sociology
• Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level
• Ability to use instructional technologies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
• Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
