About the Role

Penguin Recruitment is working with a leading planning and development consultancy dedicated to creating sustainable and vibrant communities in London.

  • The company is seeking a Senior Town Planner to come and join their team of professionals committed to shaping the city's future and ensuring that it remains a fantastic place to live and work.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Leading complex planning projects from inception to completion, utilising strong project management skills and experience.
  2. Conducting thorough research and analysis to inform planning decisions, staying up-to-date with London's evolving planning regulations and policies.
  3. Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and reports, ensuring all submissions meet the required standards.
  4. Managing a team of planners and coordinating project timelines, promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.
  5. Maintaining a strong network of contacts within the planning industry, building relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Urban Planning or a related field, demonstrating a strong academic background and passion for the industry.
  • A strong background and proven track record in Town Planning, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Full membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), evidencing a commitment to professional development and ongoing learning.
  • Strong knowledge of London's planning regulations and policies, including current best practices and trends.
  • Proficiency in planning software and GIS tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently.
