Job Title: Principal Naval Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Naval Architect to join our team at BAE Systems (New). As a key member of our Naval Architecture Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge submarines for the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop submarine systems and components, including hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, and infrastructure support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex ship design and build programs
  • Conduct research and development activities to advance naval architecture capabilities
  • Support sea trials and commissioning activities for multiple submarine classes

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Chartered Engineer status with RINA
  • Experience in naval architecture, with a strong understanding of marine design and hydrostatics
  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Previous experience working on defence projects
