This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Category management: Developing and implementing strategies to deliver improvements in Total Cost of Ownership, quality, service levels, ESG impact, CAPEX, cash flow, and budgeted cost savings within specific areas within IT.
  • Analysis: Leading critical commercial analysis for categories under management, including baseline development, RFP bid analysis, and recommendations/savings calculations.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Working with procurement leadership to develop negotiation strategies for key suppliers and leading contract negotiations and contract management.
  • Contract management/supplier management: Monitoring and managing in-contract performance of key suppliers for categories of responsibility.
  • Stakeholder management: Working closely with and influencing senior managers and heads-of within the Business and building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree-level qualification in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management or a STEM field.
  • CIPS Level 2/3 or working towards.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Buyer or other commercial role.
  • Strong financial awareness and experience of working within and influencing others to work within budgets and cash flow requirements.
  • Knowledge of commercial levers to influence procurement spend.
  • A track record of results-driven performance in a professional or operational environment.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Awareness of financial accounting principles for cash flow, savings recognition, and OPEX/CAPEX.
  • Analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
