Job Description

Freight Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freight Pricing Coordinator to join our team in the Birmingham office. As a key member of our pricing team, you will be responsible for creating and issuing quotations to prospects and customers, negotiating rates with carriers and suppliers, and tracking the success and failure rate of quotes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and issue quotations to prospects and customers
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers
  • Track the success and failure rate of quotes
  • Hold regular service review meetings with key suppliers to minimize cost increases
  • Monitor carrier websites and notifications
  • Communicate with customers to manage and follow up on all quotes to obtain feedback
  • Engage with airfreight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments
Requirements:
  • Freight forwarding experience, specifically in sea freight, imports, exports, and cross-trade
  • Experience in sea freight pricing and quotations
  • Understanding of how to influence profitability through effective pricing
  • Able to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Dangerous Goods knowledge is a plus
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
