Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Tendering: Prepare detailed estimates for electrical projects, ensuring all stages from pre-tender to post-tender are accurately covered.
- Project Coordination: Maintain consistent workflow to keep operations running smoothly across the UK and Ireland, ensuring all tenders are completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Commercial Analysis: Analyze actual installation times and review projects post-completion to identify any variances from budgeted costs, collaborating with the estimating team to meet revenue targets.
- Best Practices: Identify, share, and implement best practices across the company to ensure efficient operations and maximize commercial opportunities.
- Tender Preparation: Prepare each tender with structured accuracy, considering all potential construction, technical, and commercial risks, and perform detailed take-offs and input these into estimating software.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Vet incoming enquiries and dispatch accurate supplier and subcontractor requests in a timely manner, working closely with subcontractors to ensure their quotes are compliant with specifications and relevant to the project.
- Value Engineering: Offer value engineering and product substitution options when appropriate, staying up-to-date with market trends, pricing levels, competition, and workloads to deliver competitive estimates consistently.
- Experience: Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or relevant experience preparing electrical estimates.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of electrical installations is advantageous but not essential, and a degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, and the ability to work in a dynamic and expanding organization.
