Job RoleWe are seeking an experienced Buyer/Purchasing Manager to work across our group of companies, reporting directly to the MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, maintaining and analysing supplier performance, and negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the procurement process from start to finish
- Analyse supplier performance and identify areas for improvement
- Work with other teams to determine needs, specifications, and timelines for various projects
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and other criteria
- Draft purchasing contracts
- Maintain accurate price, purchasing records, and quote agreements
- Evaluate and analyse usage, cost, and performance data
- Support the development of procurement strategies to enhance overall supply performance and reduce costs
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and industry best practices to inform buying decisions
- Maintain close working relationships with suppliers and internal departments
- Handle purchase orders, invoices, and resolve discrepancies
- Track shipments and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely arrival of stock
- Monitor inventory levels
- Warehouse/storage planning
- Resolve queries with suppliers
- Proactively identify potential business issues and/or supply constraints
- Compile and deliver annual budgets
- Proven experience as a Buyer
- Supply chain knowledge in the building sector
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Excellent numerical skills
