Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the day-to-day management of mechanical services, including air-conditioning, refrigeration, and catering equipment. This will involve working closely with the Mechanical Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Mechanical Manager with the management of mechanical services, including air-conditioning, refrigeration, and catering equipment.
  • Carry out reactive and service works within the contract, including PPP reviews every six months.
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships at all levels, with a good understanding of the client's current and future drivers.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the management team to provide support as necessary.
  • Challenge inefficient work practices and work with others to improve efficiency.
  • Liaise with client mechanical surveyors as instructed by the Mechanical Supervisor.
  • Produce quotations for non-contract additional works.
  • Manage and control subcontracted refrigeration and air-conditioning works.
  • Carry out team talks with designated staff and record attendance each month.
  • Input mechanical safety observation reports onto Intelex#.

Requirements

  • Suitable formal qualification in refrigeration and air-conditioning.
  • Good general understanding of mechanical controls theory, HVAC theory, and electrical power infrastructure.
  • Health and safety and compliance knowledge.
  • CP LOW Voltage, CP Confined Spaces, and CP Pressure Systems certifications.
  • Good communication and motivational skills.
  • Good understanding of Word and Excel.
