Job Summary
Wilde Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to oversee the design and delivery of complex construction projects from inception through to completion. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, leading a team responsible for engineering design, construction, and maintenance projects, and assuming Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM regulations.

The successful candidate will work on urban transport initiatives, focusing on Highways, Civil, Structural, Drainage, Contract Administration, and Surveying projects. They should be prepared to adapt to various project requirements and lead by example in terms of innovative design solutions within time and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Project Management
  1. Deliver complex construction projects as defined by the project brief, often in constrained urban environments, by conducting initial, interim, and final surveys and investigations.
  2. Complete designs, calculations, specifications, plans, drawings, estimates, reports, and bills of quantities using CAD and other specialized software.
  3. Perform site visits to verify contractor adherence to specifications and timelines, ensuring safe site operations, and reporting any safety concerns.
  4. Prepare, issue, update, and close statutory and other notices in accordance with legal requirements.
  5. Coordinate with statutory bodies and other departments to manage conflicts and ensure smooth project delivery.
  6. Manage project finances and contracts, with a focus on on-time and on-budget delivery.
Team Supervision
  1. Oversee resources and direct team members involved in project execution.
  2. Implement cost-effective engineering solutions by interpreting and applying current technical standards and specifications.
Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Lead design teams and manage the delivery of high-value construction projects or provide specialized technical designs and guidance to support multiple project programs.
  2. Commit to ongoing professional development, including mentoring and supporting colleagues' progress toward professional accreditation.
  3. Contribute to service, policy, and practice development in collaboration with senior team members.
