Academic Mathematician

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Mathematician to join our team at Jobit.

The ideal candidate will support the Head of Mathematics in ensuring exceptional progress and achievement in the subject, while taking on curriculum and departmental responsibilities.

• Deputising for the Head of Mathematics in their absence, ensuring continuity in departmental leadership.
• Assisting in coordinating the Mathematics curriculum, including schemes of work, marking policies, and teaching strategies.
• Supporting communication with parents, including providing resources and updates to help them support their child's learning.
• Analysing data to identify underachievement and implementing effective intervention programmes, particularly at Key Stage 4.
• Enhancing the profile of Mathematics within the school and community by promoting the subject at events and ensuring up-to-date information is shared.
• Conducting quality assurance activities such as student voice, work sampling, and lesson observations to maintain high standards.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Teacher of Mathematics, Mathematics Teacher or in a similar role.
• Strong expertise in Mathematics teaching, with a commitment to driving academic excellence.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage curriculum planning and departmental initiatives effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents and foster a positive culture within the department.
• A passion for developing colleagues by sharing best practices and promoting high standards.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum
