Job Title: Principal Commissioning Engineer RTS Mechanical

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Commissioning Engineer to join our Reactor Test Section Mechanical team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading test and commissioning activities, de-conflicting tasks, briefing teams and overseeing work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading test and commissioning activities
  • De-conflicting tasks, briefing teams and overseeing work
  • Responsible for safe plant operation, maintain awareness of plant state and consequences of activities
  • Responsible for self-development and attending any mandatory training requirements
  • Carry out routine work with limited supervision and have an understanding of safety consequences in a high risk environment
  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced members of the team with your knowledge and competency
  • Responsible for research, review and feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard
  • Represent the Company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements
  • Deliver assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation
  • Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure and legislation

Your Skills and Experience:
  • Experience of Commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems in a highly regulated industry
  • Experience of working to high levels of detail, recording and reviewing results
  • Knowledge of using test equipment and activities required for specific tests
  • Understanding of the role and how the T&C contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise
  • Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high-risk environment
  • Experience working with high pressure systems
  • Ability to understand complex Mechanical Systems (Drawings, diagrams, and procedures)
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorisation Conditions
