The Role
We are seeking a qualified Solicitor with 3-12 years of post-qualification experience to join our Professional Discipline Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a broad range of matters, including disciplinary action, criminal allegations, and professional regulatory sanctions. This is a unique opportunity to work with a top-ranked team of medical defence lawyers providing a national service to healthcare professionals.
The role will primarily focus on assisting the Professional Discipline Team with the management of matters relating to doctors and dentists on behalf of their medical defence organisation. This will include drafting submissions to regulators, instructing counsel and experts, liaising with institutional and lay clients, advocacy, and attending hearings.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with senior fee earners on their cases, managing a caseload of professional discipline matters under the supervision of a partner.
- Draft submissions to regulators and instruct counsel and experts as required.
- Liaise with institutional and lay clients to ensure effective communication and representation.
- Advocate on behalf of clients in hearings and other proceedings.
Requirements
We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with 3-12 years of post-qualification experience in regulatory/disciplinary work for the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare law and a proven track record of success in similar roles.
