About the Role

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our dynamic London office. This individual will partner closely with the broader Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department (LRD) to assist with the administration of the lateral attorney recruiting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange inductions for new attorney joiners, including scheduling, producing welcome packs, and coordinating room bookings.
  • Send communications to new joiners, respond to pre-joiner queries, and send reminders to relevant teams.
  • Prepare and send office-wide welcome emails for new joiners.
  • Help the team collect pre-joiner information, arrange accommodation and relocations, and maintain the OneNote tracker.
  • Collate pre-screening, background, and conflicts checks for new joiners.
  • Conduct right to work checks and assist with arranging interviews.
  • Add lateral candidates to the international database and update throughout the recruiting process.
  • Regularly check and manage the CV portal, download, review, and summarize CVs for partners.
  • Maintain the internal Practice Group Chart and individual group charts.
  • Help produce monthly reports tracking recruitment across international offices.
  • Recruit document reviewers and contract attorneys as needed.
  • Support the team with graduate recruiting tasks, including attending law fairs or events.
  • Ensure excellent DMS filing and update firm tracking systems.
  • Process expenses and invoices for the team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a law firm or professional service industry with recruiting experience.
  • Understanding of the legal qualification route is helpful.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple service requests under tight time constraints.
  • Reliability, commitment, and punctuality, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service orientation, communication skills, and ability to work with attorneys and staff at all levels.
  • Professional demeanor and computer proficiency with knowledge of database systems.
