Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a specified group of patients.
- Take charge of the ward as delegated by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse for a specified period of time.
- Act as a Team Leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by more junior qualified staff, unqualified staff, and learner nurses in the ward team.
- Assist the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse in the management of preceptorship of newly qualified staff, returning to nursing staff, and the mentorship of nursing students and healthcare support workers.
- RSCN/RN Child Branch/RN/RN Adult qualification.
- Willingness to work towards a postgraduate qualification in specialty.
- Essential skills and abilities include report writing, critical analytical skills, presentation skills, ability to motivate others, good organization, and ability to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and professional judgment.
- Personal qualities include excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, ability to have positive working relationships, good health record, proven leadership skills, and ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines.
