About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Christchurch, Dorset. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties.

This role requires effective behaviour management skills and the ability to work with challenging students. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a mixed curriculum and adapting lesson plans to meet individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students with diverse needs
  • Developing and implementing differentiated lesson plans to engage students and promote academic progress
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and development
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working in middle or upper school settings
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of child development and special educational needs

Salary:

£40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
