Job Description:

Transport General Manager

Loom Talent is partnering with a leading In-House Retail Business to find a highly skilled Transport General Manager to oversee the end-to-end group sector Transport function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end operations, leading the Transport operation and managing a team of over 300 employees across the site, encompassing over 500+ vehicles.
  • Lead the National Planning agenda through a team of 6 planning experts.
  • Assume responsibility for Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training & Risk Assessors.
  • Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the Transport operations.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and Continuous Improvement perspective.
  • Implement best practices whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the TMS & Planning platforms.
  • Provide developmental opportunities within the business to support and develop individuals.

Requirements:

  • A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background.
  • 5+ Years Transport General Management experience within a 3PL / FMCG or Retail environment.
  • Proven experience in managing large operations consisting of headcount north of +250, and 400+ assets.
  • Previous budget management of +£30m.
  • A proven history of strong leadership abilities, whilst fostering a culture of excellence and an ability to identify and develop talent within.
  • Commutable to the South Yorkshire and surrounding areas 4- 5 days per week.
