Pharmacy Lead - SACT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Lead to join our team within the Pharmacy Department at our Private Hospital in Guildford. As a key member of our multidisciplinary oncology team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of medications within our oncology facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all prescribing activities are conducted via our electronic software.
  • Offer expert advice to support medication management, prescribing practices, and clinical use within the oncology facility.
  • Inspire and motivate pharmacists and healthcare professionals to take ownership of medicine management services within the oncology unit.
  • Participate as a member of the hospital's multidisciplinary oncology team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate and hospital prescribing guidelines, along with new oncology policies.
  • Serve as an educational resource for both staff and patients regarding prescribed medications and their administration within oncology facilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm or B Pharm) or BSc in Pharmacy, with registration on the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician, or inclusion on the General Pharmaceutical Council Pharmacy Technicians register.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a UK hospital pharmacy setting, with demonstrated team management and mentoring skills, as well as budget management experience.
  • Proficient in organizational and planning abilities, with a focus on risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with individuals across various levels within the hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Performance, along with understanding of Care Standards Act and Care and Quality Commission Requirements.
