About the Role

Job Title: Mobile Telemetry Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Telemetry Engineer to join our team in the North. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, supporting a fast-paced customer-focused business.

As a Mobile Telemetry Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and managing telemetry systems on our wide range of assets. You'll work closely with our team to ensure seamless integration and effective use of telemetry technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and management of telemetry systems on Speedy assets
  • Provide high-quality services, products, and control mechanisms in the Northern Speedy territories
  • Lead synergy between all Speedy Categories and engineering functions using telemetry
  • Ongoing quality control of telemetry devices on Speedy assets
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive telemetry installation guide
  • Develop and adapt training material and practical sessions for Speedy engineers
  • Provide telemetry training to others as required
  • Liaise with Speedy team members to ensure network availability
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across divisions
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Customer-facing activities as needed

Requirements:

  • Full driving license
  • Previous experience in single-phase AC Electrics, ideally in the hire industry or similar field
  • 12vdc and 24 vdc Electrics fault-finding skills, with ability to read wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of basic engine communication systems (CAN bus and MOD bus)
  • Proficient computer skills and use of telemetry platforms
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight when required
  • Supporting the business unit/team to deliver the ESG Strategy Decade to Deliver
