About the Role

Vision for Education - Teesside Primary and York is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support young learners during a crucial stage in their education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to Year 1 pupils.
  • Support children's learning and development through a range of engaging activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need extra help.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of pupil progress.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a supportive school community.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A passion for supporting young learners and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Working Hours and Location

This is a part-time role, working 3 days a week, with the potential to become full-time and extended longer-term, depending on the school's needs.
