We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. in Dunstable, GBR. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automated systems, from conveyors to sortation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with key systems to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
- Work with the EU Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide data visualizations to internal stakeholders.
- Own or actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our automated systems.
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of our systems.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and provide training to Engineering Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventative maintenance control.
Our Customer Fulfilment team is at the heart of Amazon's operations, handling over 1.5 million orders every day. We are a dynamic and fast-paced team that is always looking for ways to improve our processes and offer a better product range to our customers.
Requirements- A UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC National Diploma and Certificate (OND/D), NVQ III/IV/V Engineering Manufacture (or similar), Ieng, CEng, ILM L3+ or a fully accredited apprenticeship with relevant follow-on qualifications.
- Relevant experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
- Relevant experience supporting different conveyors and sortation systems.
- Relevant experience dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization, and monitoring.
- Experience with at least one of the following tools: Microsoft Office, project management tools, and EPLAN.
